Lontong Serapah

Bali Culinary - Lontong serapah in bali is commonly welknown for those originally from Jembrana regency, a regency located on the west of bali island. Most of people of indonesia have already know lontong. This food looks alike ketupat but it covered with banana leaves. In bali, the cover of lontong usualy choosing certain of banana leaves to make the taste more delicious.


So, what is lontong serapah? Of course the main menu is lontong. The shape of lontong serapah is big triangle that cut to be small pieces and served with vegetables such as casava leaves, spinach, jackfruit, papaya and banana flower that watered with yellow sticky water that made from turmeric and also filled with come chillis. (the chillis are also cooked on the water)

The water of lotong serapah with telengis as base ingredients that cooked with simple bali spices become a luxurious taste.

Telengis is the side crop from traditional processing of coconut oil. After dividing process of oil and water from the boiling of coconuts mink, the crops are strained and then we will get brown greyish sticky batter named telengis.
